Turtle Power

Clay and I went to see "TMNT" tonight. (That's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for those of you who missed out on Saturday morning cartoons in the late eighties/early nineties.) Aside from April O'Neil and Casey Jones creepily and unneccessarily living in sin, it was mightily enjoyable. Also, revisiting the beloved turtles of my youth has enabled me to create a revolutionary new personality test. Forget Myers/Briggs, folks...this is the real deal. This analysis is a conclusive assessment of your true character. Simply select the Ninja Turtle you most closely identify with, and suddenly all the puzzles that have inhibited the deeper knowledge of yourself will become clear!

Leonardo: If you chose this turtle, you are a natural-born CEO. You are a brilliant strategist, and a catalyst for success. Yes, your "stiff upper lip" attitude is just what your cohorts need to whip them into shape. But be careful! Your product-oriented ways might cause disharmony within your circle. You may have the tendency to be conceited, impatient, and a bit of a "heavy." Turtle Power advice: Learn to delegate. When you are overwhelmed with the stress of leadership, take a soothing herbal bath to relax.

Raphael: This turtle has a strong "Rambo" vibe. If you chose him, you are very capable and strong. Your head is filled with out-of-the-box solutions and clever retorts. A word of caution: when your friends witness your independence, they may be reminded that Judas Iscariot also thought he was too cool for school, and look what happened to him. Turtle Power advice: You must examine your rage before you overcome it. March yourself down to your therapist and let it all out. It's okay to cry.

Michaelangelo: To choose this turtle is to choose joie de vivre. You are always ready for a lampshade-wearing good time. You endear yourself to your friends with your easygoing, lovable personality. But beware of the darker side of your whimsy. When your mother calls and complains that you are shiftless and bubble-headed, she's being cruel to be kind. Turtle Power advice: Lay off the pot. Get a job. Maybe try a night class or two at the community college. You might like it.

Donatello: What a nice guy. If you identify with him, you are likely to be creative and intelligent. Technically inclined, you enjoy tinkering with all manner of projects. You always make time to settle down with a cup of hot tea and a good book. Caution!...well, no, you're actually probably too cautious already. You have a true turtle spirit, but your friends may think of you as being a little geeky. Turtle Power advice: To "get out of your shell" and explore the world around you, find easy ways to get out and meet people, such as a pottery class or birdwatching club.
